The Boss Hog VII/I

The Boss Hog VII/I

750ml

The One That Made It Around The World.

Following LapuLapu’s victory in the Philippines, a sole surviving ship from the Magellan-Elcano expedition returned to Andalusian Spain, completing the world’s first circumnavigation. Five hundred and one years later, The Boss Hog makes its own epic landfall with The One That Made It Around the World.

To create this ridiculously rare “B-side” of The Boss Hog, eleven barrels of The Boss Hog VIII encountered all four barrels from the VII/VIII sequel. Aged in Andalucía, España, the whiskey was lost at sea in the spring of 2022. WhistlePig celebrates its happy recovery with a set of limited edition toppers inspired by the battle of resistance.

Envejecido en Andalucía

The One That Made It Around the World traveled the world both literally and figuratively through The Boss Hog's first four cask finish. After 17 years in American Oak, each barrel journeyed through barrels of new Spanish, new South American Teakwood, small batch Philippine Rum Aged 7 Years, and finally small batch Philippine Rum Aged 10 Years. This barrel aging circumnavigation took place at our partner cooperage in Andalusian Spain - the same region where a single ship returned more than 500 years ago.

Los Perdidos

Originally planned for release following The Boss Hog VIII, these treasured eleven barrels were lost at sea on their return to Shoreham, Vermont in the Spring of 2022. Happily recovered, this intricate whiskey is crowned with two pewter toppers forming a rare postscript of The Boss Hog VII/I sequel. Less than two thousand bottles exist.
